    No but I think at least seeing ‘oh this was posted to chapotraphouse’ would key you in that maybe the headline US Military Banning Men With Girl Names From Combat isn’t serious and you would click on it before committing it to memory as something real that is happening/commenting.

      People post real news to this sub sometimes. It is not unreasonable to think that a person banning the fake news sub thinks they’re banning fake news. We don’t enter this world with the deep lore on fakenews’ origin story.

      there are 4 real articles on the first page of this comm right now. and before someone makes some smug comment about not reading the article, i did click it to read it and went “oh damn it this is the onion”

      idc that much but it is a little annoying to have real news mixed in with fake news, and i prefer being able to hide those sorts of posts altogether.
