I’m honestly not even sure why they used the “breathing” as hyperbole, because this is based on an actual vote where all the other western nations voted yes rather than abstaining. The vote is on making food a human right. Since food is just as necessary to live as breathing, all this “hyperbole” does is convince people that the US isn’t actually this evil, which it literally is.
The difference is that air is not much of a commodity [yet].
It’s a slippery slope. What’s next? Water, food, shelter, healthcare, personal freedom, leisure? Give me a break with all these handouts and just give me the exploitable labor. \s
