Nice to see your hard earned tax dollars are going towards such a fabulous cause. Meanwhile I’ve heard it said that Chinese and Russian bots exploit divisions in the Western world by talking about things like poverty, homelessness, gun violence, racism and sexism. Well maybe you should start doing something about those issues to stop them being used as fuel for alleged foreign propaganda efforts hmmm?

I’d kinda like to see a new Red Dawn, except the commies win this time. I don’t miss the Cold War in a lot of ways, being a communist is a lot less scary than it was then, but I really miss the Soviet America and “It Could Happen Here” scare tropes. They always ended badly for the commies, but until that final twist, they were usually… a lot better than you’d think. Not great, very authoritarian-left/Western concept of “Stalinism”, but… okay for what they were, and damned better than you’d be expecting from something intended to be purely anti communist and making us look evil… at worst, we sometimes look misguided and caught up in revolutionary terror, but that was really as bad as it got, and Soviet America was always a very fun fantasy for me, no matter how exactly it was brought about and propped up. I will definitely put up with portrayals of “left authoritarianism” I’d usually call inaccurate and poor taste, if it’s in the context of a homegrown Second American Revolution or a Soviet victory in the Cold War.
