Unions are centrist. Don’t you know the anarcho-syndicalists of revolutionary Catalonia all voted for Andrew Yang? And only far left anarchist democrats like Bernie Sanders want universal healthcare.

Claiming meritocracy for the far right when the CPC is probably the most meritocratic organisation I’ve ever seen is wild. I genuinely can not think of a more meritocratic org, even historically.

I don’t think we should use “merit” at all, it’s a pretty impractical notion that can have essentialist undertones depending on the context

Merit is commonly used to denote admirable effort relative to a certain set of conditions. For example, someone achieving something despite having a certain handicap has more merit than someone who doesn’t have said handicap

The CPC rewards competence with a result-oriented policy of evaluation, members are evaluated according to their objective contribution to the effort, it doesn’t take into account if the person had to struggle a lot to achieve something small

I don’t think it should take into account the amount someone struggled. What matters most is the result itself.

I get that this means that people with a handicap will advance less in the party but the purpose of the party is to get the best outcome for the largest number of people surely? This is going to result in a low representation of disability at higher levels but separate bodies can be created specifically for the issues those people face so as to reduce/prevent discrimination that might stem from that low representation.
