Image is of destruction and damage inside Israel, sourced from this article.
Iran and Israel have struck each other many times over the last few days. There has been a general focus on military facilities and headquarters by both sides, though Israel has also struck oil facilities, civilian structures and hospitals, and in return for this, Iran has struck major scientific centers and the Haifa oil facilities.
Israel appears to have three main aims. First, to collapse the Iranian state, either through shock and breakdown by killing enough senior officials, or via some sort of internal military coup. Second, to try and destroy Iranian nuclear sites and underground missile cities, or at least to paralyze them long enough to achieve the first and third goals. And third, to bring the US into a direct conflict with Iran. This is because the US better equipped to fight them than Israel is (though victory would still not be guaranteed depending on what Iran chooses to do).
Iranian nuclear facilities are hidden deep underground (800 meters), far beyond the depth range of even the most powerful bunker busters (~70 meters or so), and built such that the visible ground entrances are horizontally far away in an unknown direction from the actual underground chambers. Only an extremely competent full-scale American bombing force all simultaneously using multiple of the most powerful conventional (perhaps even nuclear) bunker busters could even hypothetically hope to breach them (and we have seen how, in practice, American bunker busters have largely failed to impair or deter Ansarallah). There are several analysts on both sides who have concluded that it is entirely impossible to physically prevent Iran from building nukes.
I fully expect the US to join the war. I believe the current ambiguity is a deliberate invention of the US while they work to move their military assets into position, and as soon as they are ready, the US will start bombing Iran. After that, Iran’s leadership must - if they haven’t already - harden their hearts, and strike back with no fear, or risk following the path of Libya, Syria, and Iraq, either into either surrender, occupation, or annihilation. Every day where they do not possess a nuke is a day where lives are being lost and cities are being bombed.

Defense Politics Asia’s youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don’t want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it’s just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
Simplicius, who publishes on Substack. Like others, his political analysis should be soundly ignored, but his knowledge of weaponry and military strategy is generally quite good.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a ‘propaganda tax’, if you don’t believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

This is actually the best Palestine Action direct action so far and I am very happy to see it.

Extremely cool
This is big enough that even the EU country I’m currently in media is reporting on it (ofc from a cringe angle but it is what it is).
No way they rolled into an raf base with an electric scooter lmao
What are they spraying and does it actually damage the planes? v cool if so
I think its just red paint with something else.
Even if it doesnt destroy the functionality of the plane, the turbines are high precision machines that can be catastrophic failure from even slight defects.
Even if the plane still works they will have to thoroughly inspect everything and disassemble the turbine which would take a long time where they can’t usr the plane to give bombs to the babykilling zionists.
Turbine blades are among the most highly engineered and high tech pieces of a plane. Spraying a bunch of paint or whatever in there may damage things, it will require inspection/maintenance, and any disassembly and cleaning could easily damage turbine blades enough to make them not suitable for use. They’re very low tolerance pieces.
Pure mercury also really fucks with planes. Not sure if it works for turbine blades, but a bit of mercury on aluminum alloy destroys an entire plane. It helps bypass the protective oxide layer and fucks anything connected to it.
On an entirely unrelated note, the temperatures are really funky today. Lucky me I got an old thermometer to check.
Just the moon dust in Iraq would absolutely wreck the turbines in an M1 tank, so I’d imagine that dried paint chips flaking off and getting sucked deeper into the engine would not be a good thing for aircraft that are constantly required to be in the air.
Presented without comment
This response is just so overplayed and so brainless that they’ve started deploying it even in cases where the action in question had exactly 0 to do with getting popular support. An anarchist could [redacted] a bunch of ICE agents and break out a hundred people from an immigration facility tomorrow and this response would get spit out by social media bots.
I thought attacking military planes on the ground to prevent them from bombing people was a clever tactic?
It gets support.
It actively helps the cause they represent.
💀💀💀💀
What’s with the wording of that tweet? Is the account actually anti-semitic?
Laith Marouf has been rightfully criticizing the cowardly and counter-revolutionary position of the Jewish anti-zionist organizations for awhile now.
Its an important perspective.
If we want to label anti-imperialist socialist native journalist (with a decade of experience in anti-zionist organizing in the West) who is living under zionist bombs in south Lebanon and on the zionist kill list as being ‘antisemitic’ … well… I dont know what to say then.
Thanks for providing that context. The wording of “all the anti-Zionist Jews on the planet” still seems off-putting, probably incorrect and unnecessary.
You’re welcome. Thanks for having reasonable dialog 👍
In my view, there is some sort of balance and I think his somewhat bombastic approach is necessary which is why I shared it. I dont see it as any different from aggressively criticizing structural deficiencies of anti-racist white allies. Obviously not every criticism should focus on the group identity but sometimes people need a good reminder.
