It’s not all the time, but every time there is a discussion about porn, or porn adjacent topics, their opinion has rubbed me the wrong way, I honestly don’t know why I was being especially harsh here. I guess I just find it annoying when I see something I’ve interpreted as “reddit gooner brain” where porn is this special thing above criticism or analysis and is actually great and good. And they’ve tried to dismiss arguments people are making in the past by claiming they are acting like “christian fundamentalists” or making claims like “all studies showing porn is bad are just funded by christian groups.” Just very much shutting down discussion and not willing to hear out people who do have legitimate problems with a very problematic industry. Which is why I came in so aggressively I guess. I’m not going to pretend I was making a strong point here, I was just venting about frustrations I didn’t even know I had towards this user.
