They’re not going for plausible deniability. They’re going for the logo equivalent of “I’m not touching you, I’m not touching you” because it pisses off their enemies and the libs will run interference for them no matter how blatant they make it.

They made Azov into a core by merging it with other units, now called the 1st Azov Core, hence the “1” in the logo.
This is, btw, a different unit from the 3rd Assault Brigade, which is also often referred to as 3rd “Azov” Brigade, because it was created by Azov veterans, and their three stripe logo is clearly based on the Azov wolfsangel.
