i don’t think we need to… just saying, it was an anti-tyrannical flag appropriated very recently by nazis….
i think there is some point to using their symbols against them, but i don’t think they care much….
and true, that’s a pretty important port, they were tyrannical slave owners standing up to other tyrants/monarchy….
i do think the nazis want people to call it a nazi flag, so it’s good to point out they’re confused nazis….

It wasn’t an anti-tyrannical flag, it was a flag designed and used by tyrants as a symbol of their fight to have a monopoly on tyranny. They were standing up to monarchy, but not in any meaningful way for those under the monarchy or tyrants. It’s infighting between the enforcers of the monarchy and the monarchy which leads to the enforcers essentially being the new monarchy. The constitution and federalism were just new abstractions of the existing order, that don’t really change the existing order.

Nazis don’t win because they’re winning some strategic 4D chess game with labels, flags and memes. Nazis are just a specific flavor of capitalist and the American system creates, upholds, and enforces capitalism. The same people who created and uphold the Gadsen flag are the same that lead to Nazis. To actually vex the Nazis and win the strategic game, you have to get rid of capitalism.

This may lead you to wonder about WWII. If capitalists lead to Nazis how were Nazis defeated by UK and American capitalists? The quick answer is that they weren’t. Communists did the bulk of the work in defeating Nazis on the battlefield. The US and UK worked quickly and effectively to save Nazis from punishment, give them good jobs in intelligence and research, and whitewash their past. Once the Nazis were gone, the capitalists were free to grab cheap labor and resources from formerly occupied areas. Nazi Germany wasn’t a moral opponent of the US and UK, they were an economic competitor. Without the competition, the remaining capitalists could swoop in and enrich themselves. They used the newly found wealth to attack the communists who were drained from doing most of the fighting during the war.

Let’s talk about Trump and Newsom, because it’s a good illustration of my point. Right now people are feeling hopeful that they’re winning the meme war on Trump because Newsom is acting just like Trump, mocking him. But what is Newsom’s real opposition to Trump? If Newsom is president, is he going to roll back all Trump policies? Probably not. Biden didn’t do it in 2020 so Newsom probably wouldn’t in 2028. Does Newsom want to dismantle the system that produces Nazis? Absolutely not. In fact he oversaw years of wealth development for the very tech companies that are now folded into the military under Trump, which helps Nazis. Is Newsom going to defund ICE? Nope. ICE was created in 2003 under Bush. Did Obama get rid of ICE? No, he made it bigger. Did Biden get rid of ICE? No, he also made it bigger. Why would Newsom oppose ICE? If he doesn’t oppose ICE then what does that mean for his symbolic opposition? The Nazi policies will continue and get bigger under him but he will wave a symbolic flag on Cinco de Mayo.

This is not an accident. It’s not a fluke of random events in history. It is by design. You have to unmake the system, not just symbolically oppose it.
