Some historical perspective on this: even in medieval times when it was not common to bathe or shower, everyone, from peasants to lords, would still regularly wash their clothes (or in the case of the wealthy have their clothes washed for them) and change into clean ones. It’s one of the main reasons why historians believe that people in the past weren’t nearly as stinky as you may assume. Wearing clean clothes really does do a lot for hygiene. If you really want to save water and electricity try doing larger loads of laundry. If you want to save on buying detergent you can make your own soap. If you don’t have a washing machine you can wash your clothes in the bathtub. Even if you just wash them with water and hang them out to dry outside in the fresh air that still helps. But please just wash your clothes. If medieval peasants could do it, you can too.
