      Unfortunately the money is in datacenters, not gaming. I have no idea how well AI optimized GPUs work for non-ML workloads.

        I actually don’t want it for gaming, I want it for running deepseek on a local machine.

        Edit: a sized down version to fit on a $300 card

    Hard to find any benchmarks but this card is originally about 30% slower than a 4090. I can`t imagine this comes anywhere near the newest NVIDIA stuff so memory aside the price for performance seems about what you’d expect.

      The 4090 is the second best card in the market.

      5th gen aren’t that much better than 4rth

      Amds flagship 9070 is 35% slower than a 4090.

      Also memory is more important than raster speed. for a lot of applications.

      The issue is that it probably lacks the drivers necessary for a consumer market. edit: So this is some ai data center bullshit, a complete waste of resources.

        Not just memory quantity but memory bandwidth. The speed of computation in GPUs turns many problems from computationally limited to memory bandwidth limited. Tensor multiplication that underlies neural networks is among those problems.
