What’s a ghost job? Like a fake/unresponsive listing? I found a lot of dead listings when going through aggregator websites (seek, linkedin etc.) because they’re uploaded and seemingly forgotten about. I usually would read the listing and then visit the company directly to see if it was actually there on their website
Yeah exactly. Don’t apply to anything on indeed etc. I know people who have gotten jobs through the aggregators, but I don’t fucking know how. Just seems like a scam for your resume/info and to put you on spam lists.
Its also likely field dependent, I have pretty much gotten every professional job I have had through aggregators, its worked for me 4 times now - though latest one was through knowing people.
yeah, the aggregators are just a clue to check in with the actual company
Pretty sure all the jobs on linkedin are these including the ones that expire like 4hrs after post
Probably got hit with a ghost job recently.
A place offered to interview me and said they are open to virtual interviews. I’m out of state so I emailed them and they ignored me. I called the place, and they said “oh, just email this department and we’ll be good to go.” I did and they ignored it.
Like, are they just fucking with me? At that point just say “we rejected you”.
The position to interview people is probably a ghost job too
