I’m curious what people in Cuba and the DPRK would say
Vietnam and Laos also didn’t get asked.
"
well uhh that’s because they’re brainwashed automatons, unlike me, a freedom loving amurrrrican!"
They get social credit for being happy
people feel better about a political system when it makes their lives better, and feel worse when it makes their lives worse
holy moly! none of our political science ever predicted this.
[40 years in the lab]
“Bad things…bad, good things…good?!”
as shocked as you are
Xi Jinping personally stood behind each of 1.4 billion Chinese people when they filled out the survey. it took a while but that kind of dedication is why he is at the top
The fact that Russia is red-coloured is powerful actually. When libs reply that “the Gynese are afraid to tell the truth”, ask them why the same study gives a red colour in Russia, a much more repressive country which recently had the opposition leader die in jail. Surely Russia would be green too?
I would stil be willing to consider this better than our system, tbh
“Hating your system means you have the freedom of expression”
“Not hating your system means your country is an evil, authoritarian, surveillance state”
“I hate my country’s system”
: “Rejoice! That just means you live in a Democracy™ and you get to enjoy unlimited Freedom™!”
“So what if I wanted to change the system into something benefitting the people instead?”
: “How DARE you! Would you rather live in those TERRIFYING AUTHORITANKIE RADICAL COMMUNIST ANTI-DEMOCRACY countries where the SUPREME COMMUNIST LEADER would KIDNAP YOUR WHOLE FAMILY AND EXECUTE YOU ALL BY FIRING SQUAD for CRITICISING THEM?! Someone arrest this RADICAL EXTREMIST TERRORIST so they can be suspiciously reported dead by suicide in jail!”
