"Duck Dynasty" patriarch Phil Robertson is dead ... according to his daughter-in-law.

Unclear if Phil’s health issues prevented him from being involved in the reboot … but it’s worth noting he was briefly suspended from the show following a controversial 2014 GQ magazine interview where he made homophobic and racist remarks.

      In the early 2010s, Duck Dynasty was one of the top shows on the Discovery channel. The show is about a family that owns a company which makes duck call whistles for duck hunting.

      I have never seen the show but the cultural significance to me is I remember many people (particularly boomers) trying to talk to me about it.

          Yeah I will always remember that photo of the son without a beard, has a buttigieg haircut, and wearing pastels/white on the beach with his family doing a photoshoot like some 90s rich people shit.

          I never knew that but fuck me does that track. Honestly between this and like 90% of the people my company employees I’m starting to wonder if country boys are all imaginary and it’s nothing but petty bourgeoisie cosplaying all the way down.

          Edit: fuck me. I made this joke to my SO and she laughed and said: “duh. Babe… do you think you can actually be that level of country bumpkin and own land???” It is all fucking cosplay. Even the people who live in cheap ass housing on this shit do it to get the homestead tax credit it sounds like.
