Surprisingly sober article on the DPRK coming from CNN. Talks about a burgeoning middle class in the DPRK, how Pyongyang is much more developed now than 10 years ago, and says that their lack of meeting Trump is because of geopolitics instead of saying it’s because of Kim’s inherent evilness. Though it still says he has “near-absolute power” in the country.
Indeed, it’s kind of shocking to see an admission that DPRK is actually doing well economically in mainstream western media.
Yeah very surprising to read that on cnn
The 90s did a real number on the DPRK, I wonder how much progress it would have had if that calamity didn’t happen
“Calamity” or deliberate blockade of food/fertilizer/fuel?
Yeah okay the language sounds like it’s a natural occurrence, but I’m pretty sure the word can be used to describe non natural things that are terrible.
There is undeniably a lot more activity around the DPRK these days, the newly constructed greenhouse, hospital, and resort all reflect a growing, stable economy, and there have been first-in-a-decade visits from Vietnam and Indonesia. It is fantastic for the people of the DPRK, and with the US in decline, I can’t see this slowing down.
“near-absolute power”
At least they aren’t saying absolute power, lol
wow it reads a lot more normally than in the past, what happened?
government shutdown affecting propaganda fundings? 🤣
Trump became a lib.
