China:
America: I think if we go to war it’ll turn out badly for us.
China (and normal people): What? I didn’t even say anything, where is this coming from?

This is like sitting next to someone and they just randomly say “If I decided to attack you I think perhaps you’d win that fight”; like bro I was just having nachos, what prompted that?!
don’t bury the lede, yog. obviously the headline is not news, so it took me a minute to realize the news here is that the atlantic is saying it
haha basically, looks like the empire is entering the acceptance stages of grief here
I don’t really think two countries on completely opposite sides of the world can go to war. They will just nuke each other to shit.
If the US sends its troops to China? They’ll lose because they will have a logistical disadvantage.

It’s basically not possible to have a regular war between two countries so far apart. Intercepting the supply is too easy, cutting off the frontline’s ability to do any push. The only possible way you can even this out is by having a neighbouring country become your base of operations for the war. You still have to do logistics between your home country and that country though. This I think is why the US included Japan in the “Core 5”.
The idea of the US fighting a conventional war with China is absolutely fantastical.
Good.
oh yeah haha forgot about it
