Damaged Destroyer Moored at Pier after Perfect Restoration of Its Balance

Pyongyang, June 6 (KCNA) – The field restoration promotion team informed the Central Military Commission of the Workers’ Party of Korea of its work to restore the damaged destroyer on June 5.

After restoring the balance of the destroyer early in June, the team moored it at the pier by safely conducting its end launching on Thursday afternoon.

The team will start the next-stage restoration after the reexamination of a group of experts into the overall hull of the destroyer.

The next-stage elaborate restoration is to be carried out at the dry dock of the Rajin Dockyard for the period of 7-10 days.

Jo Chun Ryong, secretary of the WPK Central Committee, who is guiding the work of the field restoration promotion team, said that the perfect restoration of the destroyer will be completed without fail before the convening of the Twelfth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK. -0-

There’s no way that few balloons could do anything meaningful. I’ve designed a moored balloon system for a lighting truss and we could barely get it to work. A balloon that could lift that destroyer would cover the bounds of this photo.

KCNA had reported that DPRK’s inspections found scratches in the hull but not found any holes. KCNA is owned by DPRK.

It could have been possible that DPRK was bending the truth to strategically hide a vulnerability from US/Japan/ROK. It was mostly people online who were speculating that the damage to the ship was worse than KCNA had reported.

I chose to believe KCNA optimistically. Though DPRK said the repair would take 10 days and it has been 15 days.

To be fair they don’t have much experience in this. For comparison Poland build a corvette in 19 years and we used to have one of the best shipyards in Europe before solidarnosc destroyed them.
