Want to boost your mud crab catch? Try placing your pots in tidal channels near large areas of mangroves or saltmarsh.
During high tide, mud crabs move up into these shallow, vegetated flats to feed and dig. As the tide goes out, they return to deeper water through channels – making these spots ideal for your pots. You’ll have even better luck during bigger tidal movements when crabs are more active. Set your pots where the water drains off the flats, and you’ll be right in their path.

Are they about to be your meal or your pets? I say this as someone who’s never caught crabs.I just assume that this is dinner.
I got this photo from a Department of Primary Industries newsletter. For some reason it read like a shitpost despite being concise and factual. The crabs are probably freshly caught, but they also seem very polite.
I’m trying to make an effort to be nice. This just seems like a snarky way to answer the “pet or meal” question.
