It is truly a despicable way of life that will likely cause the end of this planet but I am 99% sure that allowing it to be completely controlled by billionaire tech edge lords and racist incels is not a better outcome than Kamala. Every single president of my lifetime has sucked but the damage done by Bush with Homeland Security shit and what Trump is doing with ICE is honestly detrimental enough that ignoring it is fucking weird to me. I very much understand all of this. Do you truly prefer maga? You would rather have ICE raids than student loan forgiveness? You would rather have Medicaid cuts than the CHIPS act. My main point as an older leftist is that nothing happens in a vacuum. The teachings of Marx have failed to progress society in any meaningful way because young leftists are overconfident in their position. There is zero chance of a revolution with the numbers that currently exist and sitting out elections has let maga rise to power at an alarming rate. Liberals aren’t the answer but they have ideas that could demonstrate that socialization of goods and services will be better for the collective. I truly believe that American leftists having no understanding of our actual political climate is leading America to some obscenely dark times. I am not a a liberal but watching ICE raids, and Medicaid cuts does not seem worth it to own the libs. Also, due to us being snobby idiots who are often wrong about modern politics, and recent history, we have lost a giant portion of the youth, realistically for good. So, what is being achieves by not participating?

Marx was explicitly not anti capitalism. He thought it was a necessary step in the March towards communism. His most famous works are dedicated to explaining capitalism. Weird that you just made up stuff and felt confident about it.

I believe it is the best way for a society to function. I am also keenly aware of modern history and current power dynamics. I’m guessing you call yourself a socialist, how did things work out for Trotsky and Lenin. The only thing that makes me cringe about socialism is that many of it’s modern adherents seem like whiny children who are too lazy to put in the work on research.

Leftists won’t vote for the DNC yet get shocked when it tries to get votes from the right. If leftists could be counted on to vote, people would try to appeal to them.

A dem in office is far closer to socialism than a maga admin. Getting closer to what you want is better than getting further away from what you want. Now we have to spend years just getting back to the norm we had in 2020. Things like student loans forgiveness, lgbtq protections, reasonable immigration. Those are all gone now and Dems will have to focus on that instead of actual progress. What was gained by a maga victory?
