given that hopefully lemmy 1.0 should be releasing within the first half of 2026 since theyve got the backend pretty much finished and are working on the UI now, i think the comms should be merged because post tags can accomplish the point of el chisme better than having 2 seperate comms would, because mods will just be able to change post tags if someone mis tags their post
i think this is the perfect use for post tags when lemmy 1.0 comes out. if you can block all posts with a certain post tag you will be able to have one community and people who dont want to see 5 upvote comments can block that tag out
this seems like it would need to be custom code. however, im not sure what this would accomplish that post tagging wouldnt accomplish

i’d be curious to see if they say similar things in spanish. most of this stuff is always in english because they’re communicating with their actual base, wealthy/formerly wealthy venezuelans who can speak relatively good english and are implicitly being promised a part of this pie if they manage to take down the PSUV. however if most poorer venezuelans cant speak much english (which is usually the case in global south countries), you could put out propaganda in spanish targeted towards the poor to try and diminish their support for Maduro’s government

I have not kept up with the ukraine SMO for some time now. apparently russia is very close (~1-2 km) to fully encircling a large part of the ukrainian armed forces in and around povrosk? how long has this battle been going on for, how is the rest of the front doing? are we finally beginning to see the beginnings of the end for ukraine, because i thought there was almost nothing behind povrosk until the dnieper or something like this

i will say unity of fields is run better than pal action, fergie from my understanding was directly responsible for the arrest cases you were talking about and just mishandled the entire thing but i havent seen any such bungles from unity of fields.
