Sodium_nitride@lemmygrad.mlto chapotraphouse@hexbear.net•What Challenges Do Hierarchies Address?English0·19 days agoYou don’t get the point. You know how “systemic racism” describes a system that is durably racist that does not need to be occupied by good faith racist operators to make racist outcomes? Socialists need systemic socialism, a system that is durably socialist that does not need to be occupied by good faith socialist operators for socialist outcomes.
The reproduction of a system from generation to generation can be durable without getting rid of the human element. In fact, the attempt of getting rid of the human element itself is idealistic. Socialism will always be a movement (not system) composed of humans. And it is certainly the case that socialism is not simply a system, but rather the movement of those who aim to abolish the present state of affairs. There will necessarily be many types of systems produced by socialists, and many disagreements in the socialist camp, and even reactionary brain-worms stuck in the minds of socialists young or old. Thus a “durable” socialism of the type you seek cannot really exist, because just as “scientific racism” evolved, waned, and waxed over time, so will socialism. The durably socialist system you create today could also simply become obsolete tomorrow.
Why was this not centered in Third or Fourth Generation thought?
Because conditions in China were different at the time.
How do we ensure that 6th generation thought does even better with these types of commitments?
Through ideological struggle, for which there is no substitute.
Your article is focused on poverty alleviation that has mainly happened within the last 10-15 years, and the elimination of “extreme poverty”.
I more so aimed to give you more details for how the CPC operates, which you thought there was a lack of in Yog’s substack article.
How to keep the system of redistribution up to date and politically durable over time such that extreme poverty is not recreated in another name?
Through educating the future generations and continuing development and reforms. Through adapting the existing system to changing geopolitical and technological conditions.

Isn’t this the boutique shop ideology created literally for some video game whose name I cannot remember?
You cannot really fault vanguardists for not saying red philosopher kings out loud.
I’m glad you understand. After all, it would be embarrassing to start talking about “philosopher kings” after having placed so much effort into developing the mass line and democratic centralisation precisely to give the people more power.
What is the CPC actually doing other than arbitrarily “choosing” these things?

China is the biggest target, it hasn’t been isolated from the world economy or the free trade system. America is making an attempt to isolate china but how many countries will play along?
What soft power they retain will be aimed at “traditional values” crowd
Fair enough. But there is more to soft power than just cultural factors. The reliability of the American market itself is in question, and this is not a good thing. America going with fascist aesthetics is nowhere near as America trying to interfere with the global gravy train.
It is impossible to convince the Europeans to side with the global south out of the goodness of their hearts (which they don’t have). However, fucking with their wallets will cause everyone except the most ardent European hitlerites to rethink their relationship with America.
Sodium_nitride@lemmygrad.mlto World News@lemmygrad.ml•Trump tariffs live updates: Trump pauses higher tariffs for dozens of countries, but hikes China rate to 125%0·2 months agoI think it would be a mistake to view China as isolated in this. First of all, Russia, Vietnam and Iran are pretty strong partners to have. Secondly, there is the BRICS bloc, which has been growing largely due to American abuses of the international finance system. America flip flopping so hard on tariffs and then extorting every country in the world will no doubt cause American soft power to decline rapidly in the coming years as countries grow weary.
Also, on a purely military and industrial basis, China outclasses the whole of the west by such a margin that there really isn’t anything to worry about. China of all countries cannot have its industries decimated short of nuclear strikes.
Rainy, damp, cloudy, windy weather is peak weather and beats a “nice sunny day” 80% of the time.
Ice cream is winter food and not summer food because of how fatty it is. Popsicles are summer food and not so appealing in the winter.
All countries should be making a 100% effort towards eliminating all meat (except that produced by subsistence farmers and the like) in their diets for the sake of the climate. Poverty is not an excuse because vegetarian diets use many many times less resources (which is why wealthy countries eat much more meat).
Large wealthy countries should provide free vitamin supplements worldwide to reduce diseases.
