Having to go through the same without ever addressing it with my family stranded me, and now that I think of it, where I got a lot of bad habits. My only advice I got was from my big brother who told me to go beat the kid harassing me, I never did.

But I get you, it sucks, a lot. If you get along with them, offer some escapism if you wish, an activity that the kid would love. If you’re close to them, the kids could confide - too. And having someone you know outside the family where you could feel like a weight could mean a lot to them.
