Know a guy who experienced this on deployment. They also falsified docs to extend the deployment of a new father with an infant waiting at home… Yes you read that correctly, someone died by suicide, unit was traumatized, and leaderships response was to falsify documents to keep this father from going home to his kids first birthday. Absolutely insane. Luckily the guy made a big stink and got to go home, still a messed up story though.
Yeah for any comrades in the US reading this, now is the time to be full swing organizing all the anti-genocide / anti war protestors, immigration defense, healthcare/education workers, medicare recipients, no kings attendees, unions, churches, civil groups, community leaders, etc in preparation for this scenario. There’s real momentum now for a general strike, Chicago’s mayor is taking interviews left and right to push one, and Dems are keen to co-opt but most importantly - seeing the same rapid decline in support and confidence that the Republicans are.
The opportunity arising can’t be understated: millions may go hungry and desperate, the economic and social impacts will spread rapidly and be widely apparent. Things will heat up rapidly with already historically low confidence in the system and a steady flow of stark contradictions like MILEI’s $40b, Israel’s Genocide, a war drive in South America, etc. When the heat rises, it’ll come down to how well comrades have prepared to give that energy unity and direction toward an alternative that folks see - not only as an idea in someone’s head - but the only just / viable path forward already being paved.

This right here! The struggle is a school, and this struggle in particular gave folks 2 years of valuable experience organizing and facing off against state repression, media, etc. It also stripped bare the contradictions most folks were otherwise oblivious to. It completely changed the layout of organizing in my area just from folks seeing / learning from PSL and applying lessons at their various orgs, unions, etc or seeking help. The knock-on effects can’t be understated and this has absolutely been a formative struggle for the ones to come.
This seems like a significant aspect I’ve not seen discussed elsewhere and it feels like a very positive and probable outcome. Thank you for sharing this analysis.
It sounds like BRICS is going forward with their dollar replacement from what this video is saying. I think I may have seen something about this in the Tricontinental a while back - but I’m curious to know what other folks think this means moving forward?
Damn this combined with the air-readiness stats earlier is wild. Is this relatively normal or something? I can’t imagine spending trillions on defense just to have fleets of rust-buckets hemorrhaging on planned obsolescence and part shortages, then having to publicly admit your concern about getting caught with your pants down because of it. That’s nuts.
Yeah there’s no way to stay in that room and not feel like the odd one out, seems like mostly small islands / vassals afaict. Only notable one is China, probably on their “don’t stir the pot” line while they negotiate on trade stuff.
It would be great if some of these more progressive / resistant individuals were won over and convinced to ditch the Dems and clarify the contradiction there. Hopefully PSL ramps up quick enough to achieve this soon.

I worked adjacent to car sales and remember seeing this thinking it was too good to be true and these cars must have a short battery lifespan or something, but it turned out fine for those folks.
I also did my homework and bought a used car around 2018 for 5k USD, great car until I nearly died by a drunk driver (thank you car-centric transit + poverty-fueled addictions). Car was wrecked, I got PTSD behind the wheel. Insurance gave me 7k, on-paper at first I thought nice I got 2k more to buy a better car! Cool!
IRL the price to repurchase the same car/mileage in 2022 was 10k average. I got back about as much as I had paid for the car and insurance and I was 3k short of what I needed to get the same car.
