Chuds cant be bothered to watch the 1999 documentary film The 13th Warrior starring Antonio Banderas.

It is not a good movie necessarily, but the story that the book by Michael Crichton is based on (minus Beowulf) is itself based on the writings of Ibn Fadlan about his time with the Volga Vikings.

I’d recommend hiring a Steven Seagal-style chef for the crew member as well, in case Tommy Lee Jones tries to take over the ship.

Home Assistant is great. If i had more time I’d set up some ESP modules (cost is not an issue, they are very cheap).

It runs on a raspberry pi 3 or newer or a docker container on an existing server, plus a zigbee or zwave usb device that can be bought off AliExpress.

I would like to get a weather sensor or non-cloud doorbell camera working with it, but for now i have cheap zigbee lights and switches.

For less than the cost of a few philips hue bulbs and bridge, I put in some cheap floor, ceiling, and wall lamps and smart bulbs - my old house has very few ceiling lights. I can see better and they automatically dim and get warmer at night.

I know some Airbnbs run by apartments or property management companies have noise sensors in them that automatically snitch on you. It wouldn’t surprise me if landlords started doing this or installed doorbell cameras, etc.

Idk how Beer Fest holds up today, but the German team being huge assholes was a nice touch. The old German guy in it was also in Das Boot, and they make a reference to it at one point in the film.

There are probably good East German or Soviet WW2 movies, but we never hear about them in the US.

The pics of the current leader and the Kim that lead them through the invasion by the US are only outlines. Is it illegal to show pictures of the Kims in South Korea?

Instead of the awesomely unrealistic Atari cover art we got in the past, we get celebrity endorsements and expensive CGI cutscenes. These aren’t even real games, they are basically legal gambling.
