Put this AI in EVO and watch it win the whole thing.

      punish it.

fighting game ai is typically trees for close, medium, and far distance, you can get openings by manipulating ranges. the easier difficulties might just be giving you free hits more often, there’s not much incentive for them to spend a ton of time programming an opponent that plays like a person or to optimize and de-optimize combos. on one game i won’t name i saw the easiest level not even KO an afk player.

alternatively, don’t worry about getting good against the computer because it’s inherently kinda bullshit and just play against people on fightcade or whatever. it’s far more interesting and rewarding.

Oh, im terrible at pretty much all fighting games. I used to be good at Melee but then they changed what good is and made it way too technical, im not learning to wave dash and shit. I remember soul caliber 2 having some absolute bullshit fights where you would basically have to spam a specific attack/cancel/other attack and buffer the cancel but not the second attack so you’d hit in a transition animation or whatever. That shit isn’t fun to me. Even if you do find the cheesy thing to do to win, its not like it’ll be a fun time executing it

There are games that I like that are hard by default and that’s usually fine cause its designed around that difficulty. Otherwise im an easy to normal kinda guy. The exception being the first 3 mgs games cause they really put the work into making each difficulty level work well
