Not that it matters because they’d probably just make up some new rule, but IIRC the case you’re referring to is the one that renders presidents unprosecutable for official acts carried out as president. The Epstein stuff was all before he was president, so in theory they could lock him up for it.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I never, ever expected Trump to be charged in relation to Epstein, but I still think the damage it does to his image is a perfectly worthwhile thing, especially since the Dems are almost as implicated (I say almost because Don’s letters are really fucking explicit).

In 2024 Biden announced the move to reclassify to schedule III but it simply never happened. My response is more about how this is a distraction and meaningless unless actual movement to reclassification occurs.

Absolutely. It would be an actually big deal to reclassify it. And of course, everyone with any sort of conviction period, misdemeanor or felony should be expunged. It sickens me to think of all the humans rotting away in jail because of the electric lettuce.
But it isn’t gonna happen. For the same reasons it was schedule 1’d to begin with. It’s illegality is a tool to destroy families, lives, and more. It’s too important a tool for those who would keep us under their thumbs to let go of. It’s the same reason Democrats didn’t do anything but wave it in our collective faces.
