Aparently Denys Pilash is the offical “but I’m a socialist” owl-wink for the war efforts, and my Anarchist friend volunteered for the totally not fascist army and got got by those Ruskies!

I have a soft spot for the Majority Report libs. I like watching their stuff, but if Ukraine comes up I immediately turn it off. They have no idea what they’re talking about and its painful to see people who should know better not. But of course, libs are gonna lib shrug-outta-hecks

i dont quite get how these people who generally come to the right conclusions on other issues miss the mark so hard on russia/ukraine

is it just that the anti russia propaganda is THAT strong?

or maybe just the pro ukraine propaganda being so pervasive?

maybe even just not wanting to say ukraine is also bad, because right wingers like russia?

for me, and i think most leftists, the position is they both suck and neither should be getting our support but that ukraine is a US proxy so by default we hav to give critical support (as in, support with criticism) to russia and only to say the US should not be funding ukraine as a proxy to fight against russia

i think that position makes the most sense. you’re not taking a side even. just saying both suck and we shouldnt be funding either of them, and it points out that “US SUPPORT” In ukraine is just an illusion when the only thing the US supports is attacking russia through ukraine

thats funny. also very braindead. centrism is “its all the same” and thats the extent of your analysis. if you have actual reason to not “pick a side” thats not centrism. and in the case of russia/ukrain you arent meeting in the middle of anything. you’re taking a third position outside of the generally accepted conversation

This is why being an actual Marxist and not a “leftist” is so important. “Leftists” can have the right takes on a lot of issues but they don’t understand why with materialism, it’s all vibes which can get you a lot of the way if you aren’t a piece of shit but it can’t get you the whole way. Being smart and charming and empathetic is nice and better than being a chud but it doesn’t mean you understand things. In the end you either reject idealism or you become a victim of it
