      Yup. As for school shootings, another one already happened (forgot which city). Just seems like daily life in the US.

        I haven’t checked the actual statistics for a while, but it looks like there was 350 in 2023 - so yes, it is daily life. For the past 10 years in the US it just feels like I see that there was either a public shooting or a school shooting almost every day. It never ends.

        As for the day Kirk got shot, the school shooting was not far away in Colorado.

      Yes, bit they were state politicians. I’m not saying it’s unheard of, it’s just that usually nationally recognized figures either have enough security or enough luck to get by. I mean, trump survived 3 attempts so far, two of which actually managing to get shots off?

        That was my reaction too. There’s a difference between school shootings and nationally known figures being assassinated out in the open like this. Not unheard of but definitely uncommon in the US and a number of developed nations.
