They want to replace everyone with robot slaves that they control without any chance of recourse as a matter of ontological (compulogical?) course. As that happens the displaced workers will thrash around and kill themselves, be killed by the state or simply stop reproducing because of the conditions they’re under.
Cryptocurrency technology, including smart contracts, allow them to arbitrate decisions based solely on ownership without the middleman of government.
To go a little further, the interlocking set of technologies they’re working towards represent an end for them to problems (real or imagined) like overpopulation, food scarcity, political upheaval, climate change, human rights, land reform and myriad others.
The fly in the ointment is the same one ai adoption in the workplace faces now: it’s too expensive! Oh sure, it’s cheaper to pay some sub-penny per token price to get an answer right now than it is to hire someone to tell you what’s going on even at piece work markets like fiver, but it’s more cheaper over the timespan of a workers life to hire a person than it is to run a dgx. The reason isn’t the pay, it’s that people already exist and in some cases their existence is subsidized by government, charity and their family, friends and neighbors.
Now imagine that dgx but with actuators, lubricants, galvanized structural parts and a flexible injection molded cover! The tco just goes up and up!
It’s also the reason the tech nu rich are allowed in the club, they are building the ark the wealthy intend to sail away from society. Not in a literal sense, like going to mars, but in a metaphorical sense like in that one book where all the worthy people go away to a utopia.
Imagine if, when asked about how to remain safe after the event, rushkoff was able to say “yeah man, just use robot slaves and special unbreakable contracts mediated by a complex system of who has the most money.” That’s the answer they were looking for! And that’s the answer they are building, even without direction from a consultant.

Okay so just without the communism part. But even then, I don’t really see what their bright future is going to be.
Perhaps that’s it: they are philosophically myopic. They don’t have a grand vision for the future because they live in a world of two-week project sprints, quarterly earnings reports, and maybe some doodad they preordered for Christmas.
There’s no building a better world for their children, there’s at best near-term treats that distract from a collapse they can barely comprehend, let alone respond to.
I think the game ends when the last billionaire or trillionaire has literally eaten the second - to -last one and starves to death; at least for humans. :-/
