I was in favour of China winning to begin with, but if supporting them means miniature domesticated panda bears?

I’d love to have one of these that purrs like a real bear cub and snuggles just like a particularly affectionate puppy and makes cute noises and gets into Situations when not seeking cuddles.

The sound pandas make is called “bleating”. Make of that what you will.

Great. More ways for my stuffed panda bear to eat all my household goods because they’re made of bamboo. Yay. It’s bad enough he chews up the edges of my cutting board.

    https://www.newscientist.com/article/2499052-biodegradable-plastic-made-from-bamboo-is-strong-and-easy-to-recycle/

The plastic’s toughness is comparable to commonly used engineering plastics – strong plastics used in vehicles, appliances and construction

However, its rigidity also means that its potential uses aren’t the most widespread. “It’s not something that’s going to challenge the use of the main plastics we use in packaging, like polyethylene and polypropylene,” says Dove.

Ah, that’s unfortunate. Still, industrial use cases are valuable, especially for a manufacturing heavy country like China.
