With alpine Linux, I would have kinda understood it, since most docker images are alpine based, but why Asahi?
Also, Blocks based on user ID is easily circumventable if you know how to go to Firefox and install an Expansion. So its only hurting regular people.
I suspect that it just happened out of carelessness rather than on purpose. The Apple GPU + Linux User agent combo ist unusual.
But it’s generally super frustrating how much stuff gets you blocked as soon as you have unusual system.
Is this a problem with more common distros such as mint or fedora ?
I don’t think Mint supports running on Apple Silicon hardware.
And the way to run Fedora on Apple Silicon is Fedora Asahi Remix.

It’s a pretty specific Linux distro all about getting Linux to work on the Apple Silicon chips. I don’t use it but follow its progress because they’ve accomplished some very impressive technological feats.
I wish mint would run on macs… I recently acquired an M1 that I would love to run it on :(

Yeah that’s the workaround Lina recommends too. Change the user agent to MacOS.
