Sometimes the algo…just
Ukrainians stay losing because they cannot rip off the shackles of the ancestral export commodity albatross. This shit was happening in significant quantities during basically every era except the Soviet Era. There’s even famous ones, and it’s even a marketing stereotype. Entirely disgusting that in the last 2 aeons, there was only a period of ~70 years that women’s bodies weren’t a significant cultural/luxury commodity export of Ukraine. The Black Sea slave trade was significant in the volume of women it sold to mainly the middle east throughout it’s entire history. Now it is simply that the market conditions enforce a Western pivot.
Yes men got devshirme, but women (unlike men) are a significant luxury commodity to this day because white skin, golden hair make the boys go woo woo. There is not a Turkic culture that doesn’t have a cultural impact of the way they value beauty that all comes from this slave trade.
All of Ukraine’s women’s self defense forces propaganda comes from the Soviet tradition, not from the tradition of the Nazis they name streets and football stadiums after. The Bandera apologists love to center women in their modern propaganda but these women are always clearly labeled as liasons(THIS IS THE FUCKING WORD THAT MEANT ESCORT IN THE 20th CENTURY) even in their own admission see this bullshit right here CW: fash bullshit. They consistently attempt to dress up the fact that women were disposal communication and sexual commodities with valorization about how they gave birth alone in underground bunkers and killed themselves valiantly instead of surrendering to the enemy. The OUN/UPA were disgustingly sexist and regressive societies compared to their Soviet counterparts – even for the time. Women were seen as the middle point between trad-wife, messenger, and comfort women.
It’s undisputed that the Bolsheviks and the Maoists were comparatively the best broad cultural forces for women’s rights and emancipation, but Westerners love to measure rights and emancipation in how many treats one can buy at any given time. And while reality might have been different from propaganda and certainly not as rosy and uneven in application, the Reds never called women a “reliable rear” of the movement. Mao famously said women held up half the sky.
Lenin’s version was longer and not as punchy:
The Government of the proletarian dictatorship, together with the Communist Party and trade unions, is of course leaving no stone unturned in the effort to overcome the backward ideas of men and women, to destroy the old un-communist psychology. In law there is naturally complete equality of rights for men and women. And everywhere there is evidence of a sincere wish to put this equality into practice. We are bringing the women into the social economy, into legislation and government. All educational institutions are open to them, so that they can increase their professional and social capacities. We are establishing communal kitchens and public eating-houses, laundries and repairing shops, nurseries, kindergartens, children’s homes, educational institutes of all kinds. In short, we are seriously carrying out the demand in our programme for the transference of the economic and educational functions of the separate household to society. That will mean freedom for the woman from the old household drudgery and dependence on man. That enables her to exercise to the full her talents and her inclinations. The children are brought up under more favourable conditions than at home. We have the most advanced protective laws for women workers in the world, and the officials of the organised workers carry them out. We are establishing maternity hospitals, homes for mothers and children, mothercraft clinics, organising lecture courses on child care, exhibitions teaching mothers how to look after themselves and their children, and similar things. We are making the most serious efforts to maintain women who are unemployed and unprovided for.
“We realise clearly that that is not very much, in comparison with the needs of the working women, that it is far from being all that is required for their real freedom. But still it is tremendous progress, as against conditions in tsarist-capitalist Russia. It is even a great deal compared with conditions in countries where capitalism still has a free hand. It is a good beginning in the right direction, and we shall develop it further. With all our energy, you may believe that. For every day of the existence of the Soviet State proves more clearly that we cannot go forward without the women.”
You will never find such in-depth comprehensive programs, speeches or even wish casting from the Banderite swine.
Sorry I turned this into an effort post. I get annoyed at having to remember this bullshit especially because it veers into the bullshit lies some of my family believes. My mother for example did not like the way that the USSR treated birth compared to the US. It was rough, it was hard, but it wasn’t exploitative. Her complaints about USSR birthing centers that she relayed to my wife are out of pocket when compared to UPA women, and the fact that she supports my dad with his Nationalist bullshit. Yes USSR gendered medicine was a bit weird, it was a bit weird that men weren’t allowed to be with their wives in the birthing centers, yes it was a poor country and socialist birthing involved labor (cleaning, caring) from the pregnant mothers up until the point of (medical) labor and soon after birth. But in the USSR the culture was that men fucking waited outside the centers and went there after work. It was mandatory boyfriend parking at Macy’s, you were a piece of shit if you didn’t do it and make sure your wife was okay and bring her things she needed. Comparatively my mom wasn’t trapped in a fucking bunker after being abandoned by a dude that went to fuck off to play “Nazi liberator” while jumping between 3 families. Her mother was there with her to help her along, my father and grandfather were outside the building daily.
