Gamers in 5 years: “I don’t mind ads in $90 AAA games as long as they’re only in menus and loading screens, but mid-gameplay? That’s too far.”
Gamers in 10 years: “I don’t mind ad breaks in $120 AAA games as long as they don’t take longer than 3 minutes, but 5 minutes of ads per 10-minute match? That’s too far.”
NBA 2K introduced ads between quarters years ago, and the logic was ”but it’s realistic, real NBA matches have ads too!”
“You died. Watch an ad to respawn.”
watch an ad to respawn faster. gotta get the teammates yelling slurs at you for not watching the ad
Gamers: This is fine, skill issue, simply don’t die
“The real issue is that they let you choose your pronouns in the Ad/Character Creation screen!”
Bit Idea: Counter Strike economy where you have to buy guns and equipment each round but it costs real money.
So, Star Citizen then?
Not really, counter strike is playable
That’s what’s known as a “scream test”
I forgot where is heard/read it, but i remember someone saying that that player price sensitivity tend to go down the longer a play session is, and that is increased in times of perceived scarcity. If you can inspire “lack” in players in their loadout screen you just need them to keep playing and they’ll fork over some extra coin to your MEGACORP sooner or later.
Is that Santiago Abascal (Spanish (pseudo-)fash leader)?
