Okay this is obviously bullshit guys. I’m not going to try and defend this. But I do want to know how they get these numbers. It can’t just be 100% lies, there has to be some baseline fudging of numbers BEFORE the lying starts. Like they have to be fucking with the count so they have a number in the hundreds of thousands, and then they just lie the rest of the way.
Are they counting each tank shot as a tank destroyed? Are they counting a tank they hit, which then got fixed and shot again twice? Are they counting each Russian that gets any kind of injury as dead?No, it’s just straight up lies, they took that numbers out of their asses in the first months of hyperoptimism to “show” entire world that they are “winning”. But of course if they lessened the numbers in the mean time of 3 years of such winning that would pose the question why they had stopped winning? So the numbers now reached the incredible heights of absurd. They did it because the entire western propaganda machine is working for them and its victims (westerners mostly) will never hear any conflicting narration and even if they will there is the usual “Asiatic Horde” plan B right behind it.

The thing is that Ukranian numbers also have to be the source of Ukranian decisionmaking. They can’t just be making shit up and basing stuff on that, they’d have lost if they literally didn’t do any kind of strategic assessment.

If the Ukranian government genuinely thought they killed a million Russian soldiers and destroyed the entire Russian tank fleet, all their ships etc. they would be acting differently. “The Ukrainians are stupid” and the fact that the west will fight to the last Ukranian isn’t the heuristic I’m looking for.

This is exactly how the Axis lost WWII, among other things. They got high on their own supply of propaganda to the point they were making completely irrational decisions. Hitler ordering units that no longer existed to counterattack. Japan thinking the US didn’t have the industrial capabilities to fight on two fronts. Whatever the fuck Italy was doing in Ethiopia lmao.

I mean, at least for the publicly available numbers, they literally can. Not to mention, Ukrainian estimates for war casualties would almost certainly be completely wrong because the Ukrainians have been continuously pushed back for over a year now. How would they even measure Russian casualties? Their frontlines are lacking manpower and they are disadvantaged on the electronic warfare front.

Understanding the Ukrainian, and the specific words and their meaning and connotations could maybe help.

My GUESS is theyre counting all kills as soldiers and that includes civilians in the general area they kill. Tanks could be any large vehicle. Buses, vans, etc.
