It looks like the spat between India and Pakistan could be dying down, due to a new ceasefire. As of the time of me writing this paragraph, it seems both sides want to maintain it (despite some reports of violations here and there).
Both sides have declared victory, which is completely expected given their mutual political parties and nationalist histories. It’s a little harder to say which side has actually won, as both sides seem to have managed to shoot down aircraft and hit military bases. India has, in my opinion, had the more embarrassing moments, but international conflicts aren’t cringe compilations. I feel no good-will towards Pakistan’s comprador government, but it is at least nice to see Modi knocked down a few pegs. Regardless of the final technical victor, it’s obvious that - if the ceasefire is maintained - who won are the hundreds of millions of people who won’t have to live in fear of dying in nuclear hellfire.
This conflict is a good example of what multipolarity will truly entail. Countries that have been previously limited in their nationalist ambitions by American pressure will now take opportunities to revolt, sometimes against America itself, and sometimes against other countries in their regional neighbourhood. It’s also why, as communists, our goals do not stop at multipolarity; it is merely the establishing act of a new era of agitation against peripheral and semi-peripheral capitalist countries that are forming powerful national bourgeoisie classes as the international American capitalists are forced away.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don’t want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it’s just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
Simplicius, who publishes on Substack. Like others, his political analysis should be soundly ignored, but his knowledge of weaponry and military strategy is generally quite good.

Israel came fucking second in Eurovision, they gamed the televote again.
A victory for good, but my inner accelerationist kind of wanted them to win for the massive amount if drama it would have caused, even coming second again is insane.
edit: Austria won btw
You can vote as often as you want - meaning that Zionist spend the show calling 20 times or so concentrated on Israel.
Called EuroVISION. Supposedly about songs. Really about nationalism.

Thailand should have Won

Ukraine won the years before, its always the countries that eurolibs love. The Icelandic team once brought a Palestine flag and got booed. Its trash anyways and mostly mid music and oh sponsored by a big zionist company.
they also made this banger of a music video with Bashar Murad, a gay palestinian artist who hasbara internet bots kept saying would be safer in “israel” due to his sexuality. They also made a documentary

Getting 10 points from Ireland and 12 from Spain is insane. But there are a lot of fanatic Israel supporters. Sadly, also within the gay community.
I remember being invited to a board game night by a friend’s friend, years ago. We ended up arguing about Palestine, I think I made a joke about settling on someone else’s tile in Settlers of Catan. All the guys there were gay, and I was the only straight person. Only my friend and I were shocked by how disgustingly apologetic they were about colonization. It was an extremely shitty experience. All of them including my friend are huge Eurovision fans.
Also, I just read that you can vote 20 times, with each vote costing €0.50. What the hell is this? Off course that shit gets manipulated. Only freaks would spend €10 to maximise their vote.
…huh, Poland is randomly missing from the chart
I looked it up, the chart doesn’t show countries that gave no points, so Armenia and Poland are missing. Kinda stupid, especially for an interactive chart. Maybe I want to select a country that gave no points, to see its stats?
Source: https://eurovisionworld.com/eurovision/2025#israel
The israhelli dude made a comment about armenia which caused some uproar - “why we ever gave those guys a quarter”.
He had to apologize at least. But the chauvinism is insane, armenians are one of the oldest continuous communities in the levant. They predate modern settlers by thousands of years. You didnt give them shit, in fact you are actively trying to take the quarter away.
Yeah same. “Why would we support palestinians they hate us” - verbatim quote. Fucking israelis and their pinkwashing
They used bots to get such a high number. Its pretty easy to fake those public votes. But yes a lot of right-wingers and dumb libs are located across europe as well.
There’s three and a half explanations really
Most of the pre-contest predictions were wrong and the show’s audience actually really liked the song.
Moralistic voters, supporting Israel because you just have to support a good cause (the same kind of voter is probably also prone to nationalistic “We gotta help our brothers in [x] / [y] is our enemy even if the song slaps.”
The propaganda campaign worked in gathering enough support.
3,5) Outright vote rigging. Plausible, especially with the EBU’s lack of transparency, but 1 - 3 are more likely.
TIL they advertised in times square

I’ve never seen a single Eurovision but it’s apparently a big thing. Is it actually fun to watch?
I know it because my partner once won VIP tickets to the final, a friend of hers worked at a newspaper that ran a competition. (Yeah those things are always rigged)
ohh yeah it’s good slop, also the most political non-political show on the planet
Hexbear loves to hate on Eurovision but I used to love watching it for the spectacle and the incredible staging. It’s cool to see what a small artists would do if they suddenly had almost limitless resources for their staging. Of course there’s a lot of professional teams working on it as well and not all artists have the creative freedom to make those decisions but the ones that do are why I used to watch it.
When I learned that probably the biggest reason why it still exists and why it’s so well funded is because it’s a very effective campaign to normalise Israel I had to stop watching. The special treatment Israel now gets at Eurovision (they get to have armed guards that harass all other performers and even got one banned from playing last year) really shows how important Israel and Eurovision are for each other.
This year they even banned all flags including gay pride flags because they needed an excuse to ban Palestinian flags.
The lineup this year was too safe, especially compared to last year. Boring.
Embrace Gachivision thought.
