I don’t see why the discussion warrants merit. You can’t reduce the visibility of trans people perpetrated by the right without giving the right everything they want.

And you can’t reduce the visibility of trans content from the left without giving the right everything they want.

So the result of reducing visibility will be to give the right what they want. It’s a non starter. There is nothing to gain from discussing it.

Hey, I totally get what you’re saying. Hiding ourselves won’t stop the hate, and I hear you about not giving the right what they want. I think what some of us are feeling is that the constant spotlight like when we’re turned into a debate topic… I can be really exhausting and even unsafe.

For me, it’s not about trying to disappear, but more about how we can show up on our own terms, sharing our real stories and joy instead of letting others twist the narrative. What do you think?

      You absolutely can.

‘Ghost in the shell’ (1995) had a scene outling a way trans people could be less visible wothout giving conservatives what they want.

Even if you limit yourself to currently extant technology; queers have always made the best camo. I think we got this.

Seems like a deliberately inflammatory title. Based on their data, New Yorkians are too visible, as are Jewish people, etc.

I also suspect the data is significantly skewed. YouGov fail to properly disclose their source, but 0.6% trans people could easily be a significant underestimate. The number will either be based on official data, or survey. In both cases, a trans person is very likely to lie or not “count” for official purposes.

Omg I forgot about chess 💀

This is so stupid it’s breaking my mind. I grew up hating sports because of gendered separation, never made any sense to me why we couldn’t try to have fair mixed teams even with all the «fairness in sports» fallacy thing.

But this is like a whole new level of stupid. Except it’s not even new 😩

Hey love, thanks so much for bringing this up. I really feel you … it’s like people are always talking about us instead of with us, and it gets so overwhelming sometimes. Being visible is important so we’re not erased, but all this attention can also put us at risk or just make life harder.

I think having safe spaces like this where we can look out for each other is so important. And I’d love to see more positive stories about us out there so it’s not always negative stuff.

How do you all deal with the pressure of being so out in the open? Would love to hear what everyone thinks!!
