I think it’s more to do with the Medicare fraud they did. Falsification of diagnoses in order to trigger extra payments to its Medicare Advantage plans.
Holy shit they’re finally getting called on this? MA billing fraud has been like an open secret for like a decade, I’m actually shocked this is finally getting investigated. The FTC has probably gotten thousands of tip line calls on this for every single insurance company that offers MA plans.
Investors are mad that UHC management got scared and backed off on the blatant evil by a teeny tiny amount for a few weeks after the CEO got wasted.
