I know that there are a lot of trans people on hexbear, and I know their beliefs are sincere. What I don’t understand is how they square the fact that they would be brutally suppressed, raped, tortured, murdered by the very groups/governments they unwaveringly love and support. It sickens me. Is it a manifestation of self-hatred? I just don’t get why they would degrade themselves like this.

    Also, even among countries and political organizations that are theocratically queerphobic, it is an exaggeration to call most of them pogromist in that way. The throwing people from rooftops for being gay is an ISIS thing that has just been projected on to every single heavily-Muslim group that liberals don’t like. Yeah, Hamas is homophobic and has surely inflicted terrible violence on gay people when it’s politically expedient for them, but they aren’t hunting gays down to murder them like that because it’s not politically expedient to do when you have the IOF trying to kill you (also they’ve become more secularized over time, but good luck persuading a lib of that).

    Literally just Islamophobia but woke.
