Sometimes it feels like the gender binary is so entrenched that even when someone breaks out of the false dichotomy of man/woman, they end up in another one, cis/trans. That’s why when people talk about eggs cracking it’s this nearly devastating epiphany that they suddenly need to spend years remaking themselves so they can pass as their new gender. And that leads a lot of people to second guess if they’re “trans enough” to make the journey.

It can be hard to feel valid as something you don’t have a role model or representation for, and it feels invalidating to have representation dismissed like that. Especially the egg meme community seems pretty stupid and childish about forcing people into the cis/trans binary. Nevertheless, you are valid.

My dog had medical grade ones he didn’t need anymore, so I used those when I was starting out. I know that isn’t what you asked, but I honestly can’t imagine they’d be any different.

Suffering for God’s glory is part of it, and poors do a lot of suffering. It’s the same logic as creating jobs–they’re creating believers!

Pictures that I’ve seen had soldiers wearing combat uniforms. I was wondering, shouldn’t they be wearing service uniforms or something? They looked kinda dumpy. I don’t know what to make of it.

Seems like not a real programming paradigm, and I don’t mean in a No True Scotsman way. It really is in a separate category of thing. Could’ve said logic programming or stack-oriented programming.

Tf is “return oriented”?

Modal editing for just raw text input would actually be slower, because you also enter and leave Insert Mode. I find it’s very fast and powerful for navigating around the text, which you probably do a lot more than actually editing it. And when it does come to editing, there are a lot of higher-level tools (at least in Vim) for accomplishing things more quickly, like the ‘s’ command and ‘q’ macros.

I think getting into a mental “flow” state is really valuable, and muscle memory is important for being able to stay there. If your muscle memory is to navigate around using the mouse, that’s great, but Vim feels faster to me.

I’m cutting all ties with your mother-in-law because of this. Unacceptable behavior.
