Worrying if not stuck down by courts. This could be a move further than even the UK’s criminalization of Palestine Action (and consequently anyone protesting for Palestine being swept up in it). Mainly in that any leftist demonstration can instantly be labeled a riot by “antifa terrorists” and goons sent in to arrest all present and perhaps even worse case ship them off to black sites or CECOT without rights for torture. It would also of course be a short hop and skip from this to totally freezing and seizing the finances of communist parties and other left groups as affiliates of “antifa” and thus materially supporting terrorism.

It doesn’t really matter what the courts do if the state just takes action faster than they can respond. If they really want to go after the nascent organized left they will just arrest, jail, and deport them, with the main damage done regardless of the courts.

The courts giving approval just means they can do it more and at lower cost, though the legal punishment system all runs on funny money anyways.

maybe it would lead to “might as well” development, but heavy doubts, considering meta protests in britain.

but considering overall effectiveness of protests shrug-outta-hecks

Cash distributed among members who then do things like bury it in their yard. No joke this is an actually good strategy. By distributing the funds, you minimize your losses if one person walks off. Decent orgs have crumbled due to a centralized treasury and a couple losers in leadership. It also means you can avoid banks and certain forms of seizure.

During the 1984-5 UK miners strike when Thatchers govt froze the unions accounts they had to run the whole thing in cash ($1 million of which was donated by Soviet miners unions and had to be smuggled in). They kept the cash in a big pile on a kitchen table
