My pick: The Silence of the Lambs
Literally never got the hype, it’s an aggressively mid movie. Not scary. No deeper message. Just a snoozefest of a movie.
Bonus Pick: The Godfather
Although I did like the movie, I didn’t think it was top tier like its commonly placed. There’s a ton of pro-AmeriKKKan propaganda and undertones in it as well.
Bonus bonus pick: The Matrix
I can see why people enjoyed it, the themes are interesting first time around. I just found the action scenes and Keanu Reeves character incredibly cringy. Kind of ruined it for me.
Alright Hexbear what are the most overrated movies in your opinion? Feel free to call me an uncultured pleb in the comments too.

You’re wrong about all three.
Top of my head, I’ll say
Oh yeah heat. Fucking heat is the one I couldn’t find the name of. Michael Mann, alpacino, deniro movie didn’t have quite the same ring to it.
100% the objectively correct answer.
Not only is of overrated I can’t even find it within myself to appreciate it.
Mother! is very widely disliked and arronofsky I would bet has cried in his bed about this.
‘heat’ is one of the few movies I’ve walked out of
And a great decision that was
When I conquer the world, a day-one decree will be that any movie that Martin Scorsese is attached to will be 90 minutes long maximum, and no character or geographic location can appear in more than one movie.
It almost makes up for the fact that you can almost hear him masturbating behind the camera while muttering “I’M MAKING A ALLEGORY” to himself.
I saw it opening night in a completely empty theater, and the only reason I didn’t walk out is because I was waiting for food to finish cooking in a crock pot at home. It still blows my mind that there were religious people who saw the movie and didn’t manage to notice it’s just a heavy-handed retelling of Genesis.
It would be overrated if a single person had ever said something positive about it.
do people even really like swingers? all i remember is vince vaughn talking bizarre
I still laugh at parts of Dirty Work when I think about them, but I feel like I’d be filled with shame if I ever actually watched it again.
You are talking about the Norm MacDonald film where he makes a revenge business, right?
Glad someone else thinks Heat isn’t Michael Mann’s divine gift to humanity. It’s entertaining enough, but I get the impression that people only like it because the guns sounded loud.
I love heat. I love nighttime Los Angeles. And the Val Kilmer reload is something we all aspire to.
