She was more competent than the others but had a bad habit of pushing things over the edge. It impressed the higher-ups. It got her punished/promoted by being assigned to Ghorana. Ultimately it was her downfall because it made her vulnerable to the machinations of her peers. They worked against her. The people above didn’t want a shooting star coming for their jobs. They had to crush her and blaming their mistakes on her (which was only possible because she messed up) was their opportunity. That’s what she gets for being a striver.

If she had shown some restraint and just black-bagged Lucian walking around the park, then she would have had a better chance at getting her boss’s spot. Axis was a big get and she fumbled it.

  • I think most job listings are fake. For one, I think most companies set up a job posting service and just ignore it until they actually need someone and don’t have any candidates from in-person referrals. So the jobs get posted repeatedly or updated every few months and that’s it. None of those positions are actually vacant. It’s in the interest of job board companies to make it seem like they have a lot of jobs and information. Part of their model is collecting and selling data about jobs markets. So they’re incentivized to have ghost listings everywhere because they don’t investigate or discount fake listings. It all helps their internal numbers.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the government got lazy and started relying on these job listing companies for market data. Which means there’s a big bomb of shit data rolling around in stats, convincing people that there is more activity in the market than there is.

The imperial plan didn’t even require the Ghor to be violent. The ISD employed inexperienced cops to do crowd control, increasing the chance of them being overly violent against protestors. The higher ups then ordered that one of those cops be shot during the protest. This caused the cops to turn violent. The massacre was happening one way or another. Ghor didn’t have any real input into how that was going down. It’s either go down singing or go down swinging.

Coincidentally I was listening to some Chalmers Johnson interviews from 2004 and he mentioned this exact scenario playing out in US foreign policy. This is a real thing that America has done to justify mass murder.
