    “The principle of Adam Smith”

This person is a teenager. Someone should point out to them what Smith said about landlords.

Edit: “Iranian terrorist regime” [emphasis mine]

    It’s so fucking racist, man.

He definitely was in some cases laying out principles, with both the landlord stuff and the invisible hand being examples. My issue was more that there is no “the principle of Adam Smith” and it sounds like something a child would say, even if Smith did assert principles.

If you oppose imperialism, you’re imperialist.

My favourite such interaction was when a shitlib explained to me that even thinking in terms of imperial interests (as in “the US has imperial interests in South America”) you are essentially an imperialist yourself. If you describe imperial geopolitics and grand strategy, that’s when you become an imperialist. He was very adamant too.

Olympian level mental gymnastics (competitive Dunning-Kruger performance).

Well, there was no thought out justification (he literally just said that if you talk about imperial interests you are an imperialist)

The context of all things was a Jacobin article saying that Russia has imperial interests too, and it’s reasonable to think that they will act according to their imperial interests, and it’s unreasonable to think that they will just abandon their interests, because the US wouldn’t either

What made it extra annoying was the arrogance that is typical of shitlibs

Thinking back, you never know whether you are debating a smug 16 year old online, though my guess would be that the person was mid-20s

If you point out all their memes epically “PWNING” Trump and Putin by… depicting them as gay is just plain homophobia, that means you’re on the Kremlin’s payroll and tankie and Russian bot, all at the same time.

“Um, dont you realize that power corrupts?”

-Someone who is definitely thinking about the world in concrete terms and is not at all treading metaphysical water beneath the long shadow of the church

Damn guys, it turns out any attempt to defeat fascism makes you literally indistinguishable from the fascists. I guess there’s nothing left to do but pray post memes about the Epstein files until Jesus Bernie Sanders comes back to deliver us to frictionless western leftist Heaven.

I wish you could get good communist propaganda in the West at the rates and commonality these guys think it’s spreading.

Used to be, I could at least find old Soviet stuff. Doesn’t hit as hard as it should when you can’t understand the words, but the imagery is still better than anything else I could get my paws on. But since the war, as a result of Western liberal interchangeability of their conceptions of pre revolution Russia, the USSR, and modern Russia, you can’t find old Soviet propaganda quite as easily, because they’re trying to make everything coming out of Russia disappear.

So, uh, yeah. If communist propaganda is such a problem, piling up in places it’s unwanted, dump it here for us commie bears, we actually want it.

Oh. That’s lame. And serious Captain Obvious.

Communist propaganda used to be good shit. Now, the lamest crap gets called commie propaganda. I never thought I’d say I miss the height of the Red Scare, but maybe I do.

Yeah, that one’s pretty ridiculous! Honestly, sonic weaponry… sounds like the scary “Soviet Superscience” in old Cold War films! And they’re still blaming Russia, even post '91. Even when there’s actual commies readily at hand to blame, and an excuse to blame Cuba for something. Yep, that’s the good shit when it comes to US propaganda. Classic cartoonish Cold War garbage! God, I miss that shit being everywhere. But that’s probably a monkey’s paw wish, it’s funny in moderation but less so when it’s constant.

People are so convinced what Amerikkka does is “spreading democracy”, while also realising how bad it looks, that when communist states and groups in power attempt to provide support to other revolutions and communist parties, and sometimes say we’re “spreading communism” in a similar tone/context, people jump to criticizing us for “Soviet imperialism!” because they don’t understand what’s actually happening and they just assume that commies do now and did during the Cold War the exact same thing with soft power and spheres of influence that Amerikkka does with those regime tools. Which, yes, we do use those tools to promote socialist values, but we don’t engage in the predatory economic bullshit that the capitalists do.

Anyway, read Lenin. He explains capital’s role in imperialism way better than I can.

There’s an episode of voyger where a race of slaves is invited to a conference by their opressors. I think it might have been about reperstions? Cooperstion? They hesitate to go, Janeway cinvinces them.

the meeting is a trap, the fascists descend in a gunship and attempt to kill the leaders of the slaves. Voyger saves them, ofcourse, but I spent 2 thirds of the episode yelling at the television not to trust them!

But you know, Herbears are pretty easy to get along with, but we don’t like threats, we don’t like bullies, and we don’t like you.
