Due to recent events, I’m not feeling very hopeful 😭. How’s everyone doing?

The attempt to scapegoat trans people was immediate and even more detached from reality than usual. Reactionaries are consolidating their hate patterns, so you would of course want to see a countervailing force to organize against them. Naturally this is not libetals, who, even if they were pro-trans enough, do not have any idea how to materially oppose anything.

That leaves the left, such as it is, which is growing and really not that bad at this sort of thing. We are the actual material threat of violence in defense of drag queen story hours (not always trans but at least adjascent), pride marches in unfriendly territory, secured autonomous zones. Obviously there is a lot of room for improvement and growth in numbers, but our trends are good. And reactionaries have more state power but are personally much less dedicated and more cowardly. So even as the flames rise, and there are things to be afraid of, we can still shield each other, comrades, and build to win the fight.

are you trans? are you healthy physically? if not do you have the ability to get yourself in shape?

we are reaching a point where networks, community, and uhh, readiness, are going to be the survival orders of the day. get yourself there however you can people. not a drill, etc.

THIS. This is the exact kind of spinelessness that made me lose faith in the Democrat/liberal style parties of the west. Their inability to step up and defend vulnerable people when it matters.

Pretty words about progressive ideals are worthless if you don’t put your money where your mouth is in material reality. They had 4 years of Biden to prevent this from happening. 4 years to put policies in place that would protect trans people and to put policies in place that would make it harder for fascism. Instead they compromised with Nazis.

    not good at all unfortunately

    extreme doomerism actually

Fairly sure we’re in the prelude/opening act of WWIII since fascism pretty much demands imperial and colonial domination and rapacious expansion since it’s an outgrowth of capitalism. IDK. A lot of people are going to die between that and climate change, like a lot. Billions I think.

i wrote a big effort post but I was too sad to post it. i hate this country

WW3 is a fairly optimistic outcome. The US doesn’t have it in us to fight like we once did. So if anyone actually calls our bluff we will lose. The only thing that keeps the US safe is that there is nothing worth blowing up here. The downside to that defence is that there is nothing worth blowing up. So if it came to it we’d collapse rapidly. Since we have so many nukes the big powers would have to step in. And since we have no will to fight we can be bought easily. The actual violence there would end up being less than the millions we slowly drip feed the machine to keep Wallstreet going.

but more seriously, I feel really bad about the long term. Climate change is going to continue to fuel fascism. Will the right successfully leverage Kirk to strip our rights and get us thrown in institutions? idk. With Skrmetti there’s no reason all of our care can’t be taken away. They can make hrt controlled and throw us in prison for that. Or “public indecency”. When will it happen? shrug-outta-hecks idk.

We are a tiny, tiny minority. We are, by the nature of this, spread out. Very easy to demonize. People focus on appearance. On protecting their cis children from the horrors of dysphoria. I don’t see any bright future for trans people tbh. We are the perfect target and climate change is going to ramp fascism up more then ever before. Lots, lots of people are going to die.

What I still don’t get, why trans people? Like why are people mad at them, did they get beat up by a trans person? Do they even know or interact with a trans person? Like what the actual fuck! And also 10 years ago it seems no one cared and now it’s all you hear, honestly why the fuck did they pick trans people as the scapegoat?

Because they’re an extremely small minority that don’t really have any voice at all in society, they’ve been under pressure for far longer than you think in the western world, and it’s easy for pigs to correlate the care they need to transition with something bad

For any chuds who have even a semblance of critical thinking, it’s actually super easy to get them think about it. You can tell them that even if they’re right about the issue (which they’re not) why are they prioritizing an issue that is literally a rounding error in society and not the greater economic/social issues at hand? They don’t expect you to, at least hypothetically, agree with them, and they can’t really argue against the priority issue. It absolutely stunlocks them because for a moment they have to consider, and I being misdirected?
