The United States last tested a nuclear weapon in 1992.

- “Testing why? We already know they work.” - ~Scientists, probably
- he just watched Oppenheimer on HBO - Non zero chance this is literally the reason - He’s understandably trying to figure out what he wants to show in the ballroom on opening night (in my mind he’s adding an IMAX screen because that’s what I’d do…the Presidential IMAX screen in the Presidential Ballroom…fuck the Halloween trick-or-treat candy thing on the front lawn, bring your children into the ballroom on Halloween and we’ll show them the 2001 Phantom of the Opera film on IMAX but have it dubbed over live sorry Gerard Butler)

- They ended up poisoning all of California after some billionaire suggested two birds with one stone: fracking with nukes. 35% of the country’s population died of radiation exposure in their drinking water. The democrats made a catchy tune against it, but it turns out the composer ripped the melody straight off Wagner. - history books from 2035, probably (translated from Chinese)
 - They suggested digging the Panama Canal using nukes, narrowly avoided detonating nukes on the moon as a show of force but were talked down by Carl Sagan, cattle mutilations that were attributed to close encounters with UAPs were actually government tests to see how much radiation was accumulating in cows downriver/downwind from nuclear testing sites, not to mention all of the literal and figurative fallout from nuclear testing in the Pacific that necessitated relocating entire indigenous populations who could never return to their homes. Nuclear weapons are just a new method of federal enshittification for the sake of being shitty. They’re fucking twelve year-olds. All of them. Again, figuratively and literally.
- two birds with one stone: fracking with nukes - IIRC, USSR tested an idea about excavation with nukes and concluded that it is impractical and requires too much decontamination work afterward. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rsu0lHkOIFg - The USA and the USSR both did nuclear fracking - I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

- they also fired a nuke into that infinite underground fire pit in the Uzbekistan - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urtabulak_gas_field?wprov=sfla1

- why think so small, they should nuke san andreas, just to see if it chickens out or got game - *or yellowstone, now that the show has ended and it’s not needed anymore 🤔 - lex luthor ass

     - Thank you for your attention to this matter!
- 33 years of technology has advanced since last testing they honestly must have really shit data on it by now. I don’t think this is a Trump thing, I think the US just knows it’s seriously fucking behind. - Do any of the people that were alive for the last tests even work in the government or defence industries anymore? Doubt it. The skills and experiences of the people that were last involved are long gone. They might have simulations but they lack real tangible experience. - The world is going multipolar, this means multiple threats and a need for deterrence. This means demonstrating you have a working one in the first place, and it also means testing in order to see how you would defend against and fight a nuclear war in a multipolar world. - I think this would’ve been ordered by a dem president too under the circumstances with Ukraine going badly and the US showing no signs of being able to confront China. The dem president would’ve done it quietly though while Trump sees the opportunity to please the hogs by being loud and oafish about it. - Reestablishment of these tests is a sign the US very much recognises its power is weakening. - Turns out not wanting to invest in education or training or passing skills down to the next generations leaves your country behind the ones that do. Oopsie poopsie. - That’s money that could be going to investors!

- 33 years of technology has advanced since last testing they honestly must have really shit data on it by now. - They started to retire Minutement ICBM when their replacement is nowhere in sight, which means they are probably literally crumbling. Air force recently masturbated itself about their “new generation” nuclear gravity bomb which is basically 1945 nuclear bomb but stronger. Navy is in shambles. Trump lie about their nuclear arsenal being refurbished.
- I’m sure that Russia and China are already preparing to conduct their own tests immediately after USA to remind America that they also have nukes.

- Step 1: fire the competent nuclear scientists under DOGE cuts - Step 2: fire up some nuclear testing - Step 3: ??? - Trump hears the call of the grave, he sees the reaper in the corner of his eyes and he wants to drag as many people down with him as possible so he does not cross the Styx alone. - I hope step 3 is: find out most of the nuclear stockpile is trash

- Yeah America’s gotta test nukes because otherwise Russia and China would use nukes on unarmed civilians like they did in the past…wait what, that was Amerikkka? - The only country to nuke another is America (unless you count France testing nukes in the middle of the desert in occupied Algeria, which is a different category of thing. not good, but it’s not on a city.) - There were also nuke tests on first nations land in Australia where the people were moved and told they’d get new stuff(they didn’t) - The song Beds Are Burning is about it - There were also communities that weren’t told about it. I remember about ten years back now there was an ACMI exhibit where an elder retold the story of seeing a mushroom cloud on the horizon. They recreated the moment in VR. - Damn I didn’t actually know that. Not surprising unfortunately. - Thanks for the link

- IIRC the Manhattan Project was tested on Native American land by forcing the people off elsewhere. They weren’t compensated, of course, and most ended up on reservations. Or worse than the ones they were already on.

- He desperately wants it to be the 80s again
- Are we at least not doing above-ground testing and burying it to minimize the contamination of various elements which taint scientific study for no good reason? Or are we back to big spectacular above-ground, air-burst or at sea-level type testing because it looks cooler. Oh who am I kidding, Trump will want it above-ground and probably in the Pacific or something to saber rattle at China with and will say it was the biggest and bestest nukulur explosion ever. - we’re gonna sterilize some more islands in the south pacific
- on the news they said there’s a testing range just 80 miles north of las vegas that will be activated again

- Gotta make sure nuclear fusion still works
- shove some under DC and then we can test
- I already have a nuclear arsenal large enough to destroy the world several times over. But the rest of the world is making ME build more bombs
 - Lmao what the hell who is this good for - People who manufacture/test nukes - Nuke testing killed John Wayne at least

- People who like nuking Utah - Wtf I love nukes now?
- Trump delivers even if I can’t vote for him

- The dozens of unironic Posadists - there are dozens of us. DOZENS!

- Going after the disarmament movement is like the flag burning thing. It’s crumbs for the oldheads to get them focused on something else. Now you’re going to see a lot of social media chuds become experts on why setting off nukes constantly is cool and good despite them not giving a fuck 10 mins ago. Plus, they get to do more contracting graft.
- what if he builds bleachers so you can buy tickets using bitcoin to watch a nuke test - Also sell “John Wayne” brand radiated sand
